Online Art Galleries
Prior to the advent of the internet, the primary way to discover and purchase fine art photography prints was to visit art galleries and to attend art festivals. Most art galleries carry a mix of different art mediums so if you are only interested in fine art photography prints then you would likely only be able to see a limited selection of photography on display. The art galleries that do primarily feature photography generally fall into two camps: legendary “masters of photography” who have long been deceased like Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, or the Las Vegas tourist art galleries like Peter Lik, Jeff Mitchum, etc… Almost all galleries are located in areas that cater to a wealthy and affluent demographic.
With the invention of websites, art has become much more democratized. I would argue that the quality of artwork available for sale has increased as a result since art collectors are no longer limited to a few select artists with limited inventory on-hand. Our online art gallery for example has approximately 100 photos on display. That’s likely more than what you would find in most brick and mortar galleries. Since I’m not under pressure to move a specific amount of inventory in order to pay staff and a landlord, I’m more free to show my best work and my best work only. At a brick and mortar gallery, the primary objective is to sell as opposed to showcasing interesting photography. Sometimes there is overlap there but generally not.
What are the benefits of purchasing fine art photography prints from an online art gallery?
- More choices. The selection is often more vast. If you want to see something specific chances are that you can probably find it at an online art gallery such as mine. In addition to the 100+ photos exhibited on this website, I have an extensive image collection of 150,000+ photos.
- More cost-effective. Purchasing fine art prints from an online gallery can be more cost-effective than purchasing from a brick and mortar gallery. I try to offer the best-quality photo prints available while keeping the prices reasonable. My art production costs per piece aren’t low but I rarely carry inventory on-hand, I don’t have staff to pay other than myself and I don’t pay a landlord to keep the lights on. With minimal overhead to worry about I’m able to pass the savings onto you the art collector. A large, open-edition 40x60 inch TruLife Acrylic face mount print from me is available for $3,800. At an art gallery, prints of that size could easily be 4x that amount at the base price and printed on inferior substrates than the museum-quality prints that I offer.
- You can purchase artwork from anywhere. There’s no need to travel to Carmel, Santa Fe or SoHo anymore to purchase artwork. Some options include cheap, mass-produced artwork that can be purchased at anytime on sites like art.com, saatchiart.com or wayfair.com. For higher quality fine art photography prints where you can directly interact with the artist, you can browse this website, determine the appropriate art size with my wall art size calculator, then call or email me from the beach, the boardroom or your living room. I'm here for you.
How can I purchase your fine art photography prints?
Browse the online photo galleries on this website and take note of the Photo ID# for each print you would like to buy. I'm usually available via phone or email from 8 am to 8 pm (PST), 7 days a week. I can also create a lightbox for you based on your needs. Once you have decided on which prints to purchase I will send you an online invoice that can be paid by credit card or PayPal.
